Stroppy Strikers

stroppy_strikers.jpgFor us to start getting back into winning ways we first need Adebayor and Bendtner to be locked in a room together until they work out their differences, whatever their dislike for each other or whatever their hang-ups are with each other it needs to be resolved straight away because they are killing our season with their pettiness

Maybe Bentdner really does think he is the mutts nuts and maybe Adebayor thinks he is better than everyone else but their lack of professionalism is the single most reason why we are not 20 zillion points clear and if Adebayor is trying to take the high ground on the issue because he has scored more goals he is wrong.

I personally think Bendtner’s distribution and shooting is better as is his positional sense, whereas Adebayor is more of a presence and does put the fear of Christ into most defences and has actually scored more goals but all the time they are keep acting like they doing at the moment then all they are going to do is harm the team, dare I say it but they would not have been able to get away with it if Thierry was still around as he would have insisted on them passing the ball a bit more but they need to strike the balance between the selfishness required to be a striker and a bit more professionalism of thinking of the team winning before their own personal accolades.

I thought scoring a goal in the San Siro may just given Adebayor the confidence that he can score again but he is missing real sitters like against Wigan and perhaps he may realise that he need to be a team player as well, get over the Bendtner issue and deal with it because if he had passed the ball to Bendtner in the Birmingham game we would have won that match and gone 8 points clear on the top of the league, but it was a poor decision by him to take on the keeper when his strike partner was totally unmarked

Wigan was a blip I am sure of it but we cannot afford another blip otherwise we give the initiative to the Mancs. Our squad is in need of surgery and as I have said previously, Gilberto is not the answer anymore; he is the weakest link goodbye.

How soon our season gets back on track will depend on how quickly we can get a win under our belt and Boro could be just the perfect team we need at this moment in time, we owe them big time for the defeat we suffered at their hands earlier this season and they are going to be in a fragile frame of mind after their cup exit to Cardiff last weekend.

What we need to do now is to get everybody fit again, and then start playing with a belief that we are invincible, and just steam roller the teams in front of us, we need to get into a mindset that we can beat everyone by the time the Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United matches come around we need to be in top form and really believing that we are going to win the matches. The team that goes into these matches in form will be the winners and we have the capability to do just that. Robin Van Persie is back and some of the others like Walcott, Diaby, Song, Eduardo and Rosicky will be back soon.

We have dropped pointes this season against teams we usually have beaten home and away, Newcastle, Boro, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Villa and Wigan they are all grafters but do not possess anywhere the ability to match us for skills, so why were they allowed to get the upper hand, maybe they have all sussed that if they all play a back four with one central midfielder sitting just between and in front of the two centre halves they nullify a lot of our creative forward play, is it coincidence they have played this way?

As I have just mentioned we have had a few disappointments recently which was superseded by the absolutely amazing performance in Milan, and quite frankly I think perhaps The San Siro match was the best Arsenal performance I have ever seen, bar none, if it was not your choice of THE GREATEST match surely it must be right up there with the best of the all time greatest matches?
