spurslifeplan.jpgArsenal have for the second season in a row drawn their North London neighbours in the semi final of the Carling Cup. Arsenal will probably play the first leg on Tuesday 8th Jan 2008 although they can opt for the following night if they choose with the away leg on either the 22nd or 23rd Jan 2008 with a Wembley final waiting for the winners from this tie on Feb 24th 2008.
Both teams will be making sure that they get to Wembley and it will be interesting to see if Arsene decides to bring back any on his more experianced players , but somehow I doubt it.
Last year at this fixture Spurs charged their fans and the travelling Arsenal fans maximum prices for the trip to White Hart Lane at nearly £50 a ticket while Arsenal asked for a lower fee to the annoyance of the Spurs chairman who wanted a slice of the 60,000 capacity crowd and capacity prices.
There will no doubt be another row brewing about the number of travelling fans that can attend Ashburton Grove, last year visiting Spurs were given a limited amount of tickets rather than their capacity on the advice of police but that is sure to change for this tie making for a great atmosphere.
Arsenal v Spurs Match Preview for this Saturday
Arsenal v Spurs is my favourite match of the season, I absolutly love the day itself. Police will not allow this fixture to ever take place at 3pm on a Saturday and that is a shame , however I do understand why.
Spurs will be feeling a bit more confident about this match than what they probably have in their past visits to Arsenal with two away wins under their belt in the last two games however it is every Gooners god given right to make sure that Spurs are put back in their place twice every season in the league and if we are lucky we get the chance to do it other times if we draw them in any cups as well as we have just done in the Carling Cup.
The bragging rights of North London has not really been under threat in the last two decades unless you concider a close encounter we had in the pre season fixture with Barnet when they had a good game, other than that is has been plain sailing and i see a slightly more difficult game for us however the end result should remain the same especially when the first team squad had the week off whilst they youngsters did the business against Blackburn.
Prediction; Maybe One-Day Ramos to lose in his second encounter with Arsenal and a great Arsenal performance as well.
