This is probably a game that Arsene would call a sausage and mash day rather than dining out on steak day, me i would call it a turkey day.
Arsenal fielded a strong team for this fixture and had enough to beat this hard working Birmingham side but Arsenal were not as fluent they needed to be to beat this City side, in all honesty you would find it difficult to get a constructive report for this match as it really was a catalogue of errors and you would be forgiven if you thought it was the Arsenal side from last season, a team not so sure of themselves, but it happens and we live to fight another day.
Birmingham arrived and should have been dispatched fairly easliy within the 90 minutes but we were off our game today with passes going astray and clumsy tackles being made.
We scored from a penalty which was a nailed on penalty but we never really looked like we were going to score from open play today at all, speculative shot that were not on target and just not what we are used to.
I personally think the players are not in tune with each other at the moment and we need to get that all back together again as soon as possible as we are in danger of self destruction.
Has Arsene Wengers tactics of resting key players begining to backfire as the players are starting to look as though they do not know how to find each other anymore and the timing of the runs off the ball, the shots and the crosses are just not working as slick they had previously done for most of the season.
Arsene has said in the press today that we are misfiring so i am sure it is a minor hiccup and we will be back to our best soon but i wonder if he will recall everyone for the needed additional training even though he is not supposed to be playing them because they need a physical and a mental rest.
Two points dropped but sooner or later we are going to start playing to our potential which we have not done yet this season, the best is yet to come.
