It doesn't matter how much the press and the media push to try and promote Man Utd as the team to watch this season, there is one absolute fact...Arsene Wengers class of 2008 is not only keeping pace, but is clawing back the goal difference by producing fantastic results against very dogged opposition.
It's laughable that the media spend all their time and ink praising fall-over-boy for one free kick, when we at Arsenal see a superb team performance of players who all give 100% and manage to win difficult games, that in the past they may have draw or lost.
We don't mind giving praise where praise is due, but come on...Ronaldo...best player in the Premiership? LOL! .
When he hasn't got the ball, or when he get's tackled all he does is stand with his hands on his hips looking moody on the verge of crying. Give us Adebayor any day, his passion, his drive, his vision, when he get's tackled, which isn't often, he chases back and tries to get the ball, he has all the dribbling skills without producing one silly step over and he can power the ball into the back of the net better than anyone.
If anything, the best player at Utd is Scholes, he goes about his business quite quietly and efficiently, if Fergusmoan hadn't trained him into being a dirty cheating dwarf, he's about the only player who would look good in red and white.
So back to Arsenal, where do we start ? First of all, Newcastle were not that poor, the press often watch just highlight's from a pub bar at closing time, the Gunners had to break down a very organised defence and midfield, we wern't able to play our pin ball passing game very much as the barcodes restricted space and chased everything. What no team will ever be able to deal with is Cesc Fabregas.
Cesc has 'average' games where he doesn't really shine, but what he does do is command, command the ball, command the game, and command the players and their movements. Once again he put in an understated performance where he just stroked around the ball or put his foot on it to allow players to get into position. By doing this he allowed Flamini and Clichy to have outstanding games, they had so much time to charge and run the opposition ragged, Newcastle held on untill the second half, then they looked out on their feet, such was the force of these Arsenal players who are fit enough to sprint for a full 90 minutes.
The rest of the team ? They all did their jobs well, as was reflected in the score line, a clean sheet yet again, the sign of a squad who can win every game they play, no matter how hard their opponents try to stifle them.
